In 2020, GCS adopted its first Strategic Plan using, The One Page Strategy® Process, which is a simple and effective approach for driving superior results. The process consists of three components:
- Clearly define our aspiration – what success looks like
- Make meaningful choices on resource allocation – where to focus
- Build alignment and accountability – clarify responsibilities and timing
Each year the GCS Board revisits the strategy and aligns the goals, strategies and plans for the coming year. In February 2024 the Strategic Plan was updated with the following goals:
- Expand programming and initiatives in each of the four areas of focus in 2024. Workforce & Economic Development, Youth Leadership and Engagement, Equity and Inclusion, Literacy Improvement.
- Achieve fundraising target based on the GCS Fundraising Plan.
- Identify and convene partners in at least one area of focus to discuss how to leverage the impact of GCS programs and initiatives.
